Why?
Because over the next year my aim is to create one of the largest free resources of garden nurseries available on the web today.
Why Should You Listen To Me?
I was brought up on a nursery run by my father and my grandfather. For over 30 years or as far back as i can remember i have loved plants and it was always my intention to follow in my family's footsteps and work with plants in some form or another. (Apart from the 2 years when i was about 12 and was going to be an astronaut!). For the past 19 years growing and selling plants has been my career. Over that time i have sold or grown nearly every type of Tree, Shrub, Perennial, Clematis (we currently grow over 300 varieties on our nursery), Climbers, Hedging, Fruit Trees and Bushes.
Having sold these to the public you get asked questions you would never dream up, and because i like to know every answer every time, if someone asked a question i did not know the answer to i would look it up so when i spoke to them the next week or month i would give them their answer. Doing this over the years you build up an enormous amount of knowledge and i have decided to build this website and an accompanying newsletter to help anyone with advice when it is required.
NEWSLETTER

Throughout the year i will be posting how to videos on propagation, planting ideas, and interviews with industry experts.
GARDEN DESIGN PROGRAM
I have had loads of trouble finding a good garden design program over the past 2 years so i have commissioned a programmer to write one for me, which once its complete and i have tested it, i will share with you.
PLANT RESOURCES
Over the next 12 months i will add different pages for every type of plant with advice on propagating, pests and disease, where to plant, how to prune, and a finders guide for more difficult varieties. These pages wil have an 'easy to' guide which you can read in 5 minutes. I will start to work on this soon so please keep checking the website or sign up to the newsletter where i will keep you informed to how the website is going.
FORUM
Once we have enough subscribers, i will launch an online forum because gardening is not a science and what works for me, may not work for you, so if you don't like my advice, or you try it and it does not work for you, you can post your question for someone else to answer. Having this all in one place will keep your gardening information coming from a reliable source.
NEW PLANT RELEASES
As you know each year we are getting more and more new plants being released, some are good, but most are no better than what is already available. I hope to use this website for you to review new varieties you choose and give them a star rating to help others choose which to buy and which to avoid. (I will be giving my opinion also) as i am fed up with too many new plants being old varieties relabelled, it is not fair and is a bit of a con i think.
HOW TO EARN EXTRA MONEY BY GROWING PLANTS
Every show we exhibit at i have loads of people say how lucky i am working with plants and how they would love to do the same. Well, i am about to give you the opportunity by writing different blueprints about how to earn a few pounds extra a week through how to 'give up your day job and do it full time' report. I will cover retail, wholesale, landscape, design, and much more - so please keep your eyes peeled for these reports. Even if you don't want to earn extra cash it will give you lots of tips for saving cash.
SHOW AND EVENT LIST
For 2009 i will have all show and gardening events listed and a small review for each. I will hopefully have negotiated some discounts for you also. For 2008 i will just have links in my newsletter for shows i am attending and some discount vouchers for Allen Nurseries stand.

MY BLOG
Once i work how to use the software, i will post what's happening on the nursery once a week on my blog if you are interested to know how a nursery works and the peculiar times i end up working check it out. I will have a sign up box so you can be emailed when i post a new blog entry. This will be a seperate subscription to my e-zine newsletter, but i will let all my e-zine readers know when it is ready. Some of the authors i know and some i don't so i will leave it to you to rate them, let me know and we can start a rating system like Amazon.
